Data Jam was founded in 2020 to solve a practical problem: media owners needed location-specific audience data that was faster, more accessible and easier to activate.
Today, Data Jam provides movement intelligence across physical media and place-based environments in the UK, Europe and the US.
The problem we set out to solve hasn't changed. Out of Home media owners were pricing and proving their inventory with periodic surveys, area-level models and estimates — while every other channel had granular, real-time analytics. Advertisers were asked to trust projections; media owners had no way to show what their locations really delivered.
We started with hardware: JamBox, a compact, privacy-first sensor that measures audience presence at a specific location. Six years of deployments, data and client feedback turned that starting point into a connected platform — sensors, real-time dashboards, campaign monitoring, analytics and an API that puts audience data wherever it needs to work.
That evolution — from a measurement device to a movement intelligence platform — was driven by one thing: what media owners actually need to price, prove and activate their inventory.
Six years of building, deploying and refining — shaped by the media owners who use it every day.
Data Jam is founded to give Out of Home a practical alternative to modelled audience estimates, starting with privacy-first measurement hardware.
JamBox sensors deploy across shopping centres, cinemas, roadside and transit sites in the UK, proving location-specific measurement at commercial scale.
The Portal brings real-time dashboards and reporting; the API opens data to client systems; operations expand into the US.
Campaigns adds in-flight campaign monitoring, PULSE turns audience data into decisions, and The Signal publishes monthly movement trends across the UK.
Data Jam was founded by Arran Javed, who spent nearly two decades in media and analytics before building the platform.
Arran ran Out of Home at WPP's MediaCom, overseeing more than £100m of annual OOH investment in the UK. Data Jam exists because of what that experience made obvious: the channel's biggest weakness wasn't its audiences — it was the lack of fast, transparent, location-specific data to prove them.
The company operates across the UK, Europe and the US, with the platform developed and supported by Data Jam's engineering and client teams in both markets.
Privacy is the design principle, not a feature. No cameras, no personal data, anonymised signals only — with a DPIA available for every deployment.
Our metrics are grounded in observed movement at each location. When you see a Data Jam number, it describes what happened at your site — not an average for the area.
Powerful measurement should be simple to run. JamBox needs power and WiFi; data flows in minutes; the Portal makes it usable by anyone on your team.
We're clear about what we measure, how the methodology works, and what the data does and doesn't claim. No black boxes.
One connected platform for collecting, analysing and activating real-world audience data.
Real-time impressions dashboard with zone analysis and hourly breakdowns
The data-collection layer of the platform. A compact, privacy-first sensor that captures anonymised movement signals across configurable zones at each location — with data flowing minutes after installation.

Your command centre for audience data. Interactive map views of every location, daily heatmaps with hourly breakdowns, scheduled reports and weather correlation — plus API access for programmatic integration.
Campaign monitoring in real time. Track Data Jam-enabled campaigns as they run, with in-flight impressions as they happen — so delivery questions get answered during the campaign, not after it.

From audience data to decisions. PULSE identifies anomalies, detects changes in movement, compares locations, highlights audience peaks and analyses weather and event impacts — using machine learning to support forecasting and generate reporting insights your commercial team can act on.
Measurement in public. The Signal is our monthly movement intelligence report tracking like-for-like trends across hundreds of matched UK locations — and every client and partner receives a bespoke monthly report on their own network.
